From difficult challenges come great opportunities. Galvanize, a new technology incubator in Denver Colorado, presented us with a great challenge. Design, build, and install two signs in one week. For those of you in the sign business, you understand that most signs of any magnitude, this often takes between 4 to 6 weeks.

Galvanize Opens With Signs from Signdealz

There are often challenges with municipal code, customer requirements can change, design related issues, and lets not even get into material availability. However, what some shops may see as impossible, we see as just another day on the job.

Sign Design – Signdealz has a network of design professionals from across the country and across the world. We have access to some of the best freelance talent in the sign industry. When Christopher Crosby from the Nichols Partnership, one of the founding partners of Galvanize, came to us for help with his project we jumped into action. We sourced one of the leading sign designers in the industry to quickly develop multiple options for the project.

Custom Sign Fabrication – Once we had our design finished it was time to find a fabricator that could build the sign, and not just build it, but build it in less than a week. Signdealz surveyed our network of fabricators and found a shop that could build the custom set of channel letters and they stepped up and filled the order. From the time we signed off on the PO, our vendor completed the order in 4 days. It was the fastest time we had seen from any of our manufacturing partners.

Signdealz Custom Channel Letters - Galvanize

Galvanize utilized a custom fabricated raceway to give it the narrow look our customer was looking for. The raceway was only 3.5 inches thick and extended from the bottom to the top of the main portion of the custom channel letter set. The raceway was painted flat black with the Mathews Paint system.

The channel letters had a 1.25” stroke (thickness of the letter), making it perfect for LED illumination. The faces were manufactured from 3/16” thick white acrylic and laminated with 3M Kumquat high performance translucent vinyl. The trim cap was 1” thick orange.

The accents you see in the “G” in Galvanize are routed out of ½” acrylic and suspended by threaded rod with covered by a brushed aluminum rod. The color was a PMS match to the customer branded colors.
