Without eye-catching and attention-grabbing signs, you'd be missing out on a lot of customers -- those walk-ins who happened to be just passing by or those first-time folks who wanted to visit but couldn't find your location. You may not realize it, but memorable signs are as good as advertisements when it comes to attracting new patrons.
Bad Design Leads to Bad Results When you’re starting a business, you need to do everything you can to get positive attention from the residents in your area. While more and more businesses are growing through resources like the internet and social media, a real physical presence is still incredibly important. That’s why a sign that attracts the attention of passersby is so essential. When buying your first sign, make sure you avoid these common mistakes. Otherwise you could be losing out on business from valuable customers.
Your sign’s design should be a reflection of what your customers can expect when they walk in the door. I’m thinking, for example, of the nations leading toy store chains “Toys-R-Us” versus, say, the national high end retail technology chains “Sharper Image,” or an “Apple” store. The font and colors and design of each of those great business sign brands is a reflection of what to expect when you walk in the door.
How can I afford a sign? Many small business owners fret over this question. One of the long standing sign industry adages is “A business with no sign is a sign of no business.” How can you afford NOT to have a sign? When your customers are trying to find you for the first time, poor signage is a significant reason that they go elsewhere. It generates doubt in their mind. (Did they not think ahead enough to consider that they might need a sign? Are they open? Did they just open? How long have they been in business? they must be struggling if they can only afford a temporary banner, are they a fly by night company? will they stand behind what they do? will they be here next week?
